What scheme should be adopted for the stacking of granite precision platforms?

Granite Precision Platform / Component Stacking (Splicing, Stacking, Multi-layer) Standard Solution
Combining the actual production and usage scenarios of granite square rulers, precision platforms, and components with holes in your workshop, the stacking is divided into three major solutions: stacking, permanent splicing, and multi-layer base assembly. At the same time, it strictly matches 000/00/0 grade precision protection, balancing stability,, and lifespan.
I. Core Principles (Must be observed for high-precision parts)
The stacking contact surfaces must match in flatness and be clean and free of impurities; inclusion of iron chips and dust is strictly prohibited;
000/00 grade ultra-precision parts are prohibited from direct hard contact stacking and must be added with flexible isolation
The overall flatness, perpendicularity, and rigidity after stacking must not be compromised;
Long-term stacking requires stress relief anti-vibration leveling to avoid micro-deformation the stone under long-term pressure.
II. 3 Main Stacking Solutions (By usage scenario)
Solution 1: Temporary Workshop Stacking (Turnover, storage stock preparation, most commonly used)
Applicable to: Finished platforms, square rulers, components entering the warehouse, turnover, short-term stacking
Bottom padding: Lay rubber shock- pads / solid wood blocks on the ground, the bottom platform faces up, with the precision working surface facing up;
Inter-layer isolation (Key)
High-precision000/00 grade: Lay 3–5mm thick wool felt / special granite isolation pads between each layer to completely isolate hard friction and bumps;
0/1: Lay thin rubber pads;
Stacking layers: ≤3 layers, heavy pressure is strictly prohibited, the upper layer size ≤ the lower layer to avoid overhang;
Prohibited Direct contact of two precision surfaces, steel parts pressing on granite, tilted stacking.
Solution 2: Permanent Splicing Stacking (Large inspection platforms, extended reference surfaces
Applicable to: Splicing multiple granite platforms into an ultra-large reference surface, spliced measurement bases
Standard Process
Base leveling: Ground horizontal foundation heavy-duty-vibration feet, leveling the overall horizontal;
Splicing surface treatment: Splicing side surfaces are ground to 0 grade precision, and the contact surface is cleaned of;
Splicing fixation
Lightweight platforms: Epoxy resin special stone glue positioning pin splicing;

  • Heavy-duty platforms: Internally embedded stainless steel pull hooks / pin bolts tightened, externally glued and sealed;
    Joint treatment: Micro-grinding and leveling at the joints to ensure overall flatness;
    Taboo: Bolts are strictly prohibited from penetrating the granite body, which can easily cause stress cracking and precision failure.
    Solution 3: Multi-layer Base Assembly (CMM / image measuring instrument bases, precision tooling corresponding to your square ruler with holes)
    Applicable to: Your picture’s granite square ruler with holes platform combined into a multi-layer precision base, measurement bracket
    -precision special solution (00/000 grade)
    Bottom layer: Main granite platform (large size, leveled and anti-vibration);
    Middle layer: Stainless precision spacers / granite equal-height blocks (equal height precision ±0.002mm) for support, four-point / six-point support, dispersing the force;Top layer: Granite square ruler / component, fixed with soft bolt connections, not hard-locked;
    Inter-layer must: Anti-vibration rubber pads flexible leveling sheets eliminate vibration and stress;
    Core: Large-area rigid contact is prohibited, use equal-height blocks for point support to prevent flatness deformation caused by stacking stress.
    III. Stacking Taboos Corresponding to Precision Grades (Directly Affects Service Life)
  • Grade 000/00:
  • Hard stacking is prohibited; flexible isolation point support is mandatory. Heavy pressure and long-term stacking are strictly forbidden; single-layer use is prioritized;
  • Grade 0:
  • Can be stacked with isolation within 3 layers; splicing requires special adhesive positioning pins;
  • Grade 1/2:
  • Conventional stacking is allowed; rigid splicing is sufficient; high fault tolerance.
  • IV. Exclusive Stacking Recommendations for Your Perforated Granite Square
  • The item in your picture is a precision positioning square (multi-hole granite component), used for tooling and base stacking:
  • When stacking vertically, use equal-height granite blocks to support the four corners, avoiding a hollow center;
  • Use nylon sleeves for soft connections when fixing with bolts to avoid direct metal compression on the stone;
  • Multi-layer stacking must be completed in a constant-temperature workshop; after leveling, let it stand for 72 hours to release stress before use;
  • It is strictly forbidden to place the perforated surface directly against the lower platform to prevent edge chipping at the holes and stress concentration.
