I. Core Mining Areas (High-Quality Gabbro, Pure Black Fine Grain)
Karnataka — hamrajnagar
The main production area for the industry-recognized highest grade “Indian Black” (Absolute Black Granite / Gabbro).
Fine grain, pure black with no white spots, unifom structure, and minimal internal stress, making it the first choice for precision platforms / CMM bases.
Representative mining areas: Kothalwadi, Nanjang(near Mysore).
Andhra Pradesh — Chimakurthy / Ongole
Famous production area for “Black Gold” (Gabbro), with some mining sections sharing theme origin as Indian Stone used for precision platforms.
Pure black base, extremely fine gold specks (magnetite / ilmenite), high density, and good polish.
Appoximately 350km from Chennai (Madras), which is a major export port.
II. Other Important Production Areas (Slightly inferior performance, slightly lower price)
Taml Nadu — Onnur: Fine-grained black granite with good luster; stability is slightly lower than that of Karnataka mines.
Rajasthan — Udaipur: “R Black,th trace impurities; mostly used for architectural decoration, rarely for ultra-precision platforms.

Karnataka (Chamrajn): ★★★★★ Top-tier, comparable to Jinan Green; the first choice for Grade 00 / Grade 000 platforms.
Andhra Pradesh (Chimaurthy): ★★★★☆ High-end, pure black fine grain, high cost-effectiveness; mainstream for Grade 00 platforms.
Tamil Nadu / Rajasthan: ★★★☆☆ Midto-high-end, with color differences / trace impurities; suitable for general precision platforms.

Commonly known in the market as “Indian Stone,” “Indian B” and “Black Gold,” these are all gabbro mineralogically; quality differences result solely from different origins / mining sections.
