I. Juicios más intuitivos y rápidos (mirar, tocar, empujar)
- Observe the Floating Statel:
The slide table floats evenly after air supply, with consistent gaps around the edges and stability.
Blocked:
The slide table is higher on one side and lower on the other, ing, warping, or failing to float. - Listen to the Sound
Normal:
A uniform and soft “Sssss” air sound.
Blocked:
The sound fluctuaten volume, is very weak or silent in certain areas, indicating that the air holes on that side are blocked. - Push the Slide Table by Hand (Most Accurate)
Nohes smoothly with no resistance or jamming; slides a long distance due to inertia.
Blocked:
Feels heavy and sticky with resistance; jams in a specific section, or even produces a slion sensation.
II. Professional Judgments (Suitable for Equipment Maintenance Personnel) - Pressure / Flow Judgments
Air source pressure is normal(0.4–0.6 MPa), but the air bearing fails to float
Total air volume is significantly reduced
→ High probability of large-scale blockage in porous graphite or throttling holes.cating Local Blockages
Bring a clean hand or thin paper close to the air outlet surface of the air bearing block:
Normal: Uniform airflow everywhere
Blocked: No air or v weak air in a specific area
Where there is no air, that is where the blockage is. - Observation During Operation
Vibration, crawling, or instability during moveterioration in positioning accuracy
Slight “tapping” contact friction sound
→ Typical local air hole blockage, uneven air film thickness.
III. Things to Absolutely Avoid Afer Blockage
Do not use needles, wires, or toothpicks to poke air holes
Porous graphite has precision micro-pores; poking will ruin it, destroy throttlinap precision.
Do not blast a single point with high-pressure air
It is easy to crack the graphite or dislodge the bonding.
IV. Correct Unclogging Method (Safe a Effective)
Shut down the machine and disconnect power
Use dry, clean nitrogen / dry air for low-pressure, long-distance overall blowing of the air bearing surface
Combine with ight wipe of the surface using anhydrous ethanol, then blow dry
If still blocked → Contact the manufacturer for return to factory for processing / replacement of the air bearing
Quiry (Remember these 3 points)
Feels heavy, sticky, and unsmooth when pushed = Blocked
Does not float level, one side high and one side low = Blocked
Nairflow in a local area, sound fluctuates = Blocked
