Granite Measuring Platform / Gauge Cleaning Maintenance Daily Care Standards
Applicable tde 00, Grade 0 granite platforms, straight edges, angle blocks, parallels, etc.
I. Cleaning Methods (Core: No scratching, no corrosion, no deformation)
- Dailaning (After each use)
Wipe gently with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth / chamois
First sweep away dust with a soft brush, then wipe
For il stains:
Wipe gently with anhydrous ethanol / industrial alcohol
Or use a stone-specific cleaner
Strictly Prohibited:
Steel wool, blades, sandpaper
Strong a, strong alkalis, laundry detergent, dish soap
Direct rinsing with water, prolonged soaking - Deep Cleaning (Monthly / Quarterly)
Wipe the surface clean with alcohheck for oil films, fingerprints, and cutting fluid residue
After drying, apply a thin, even layer of rust preventive oil / instrument oil
→ Purpose: Prevent hand sweat, me, and minor rusting (metal parts)
II. Maintenance Key Points (Determines lifespan and accuracy)
- Usage Environment Requirements
Temperature: 20±2°C isdeal
Avoid:
Direct sunlight
Direct air conditioning / fan blowing
Near heat sources (machine tools, radiators, welders)
Severe floor vibrations
Principle: Uniform temperature > Absol temperature - Placement & Support (Most critical!)
Must be supported at three points
Strictly Prohibited:
Four-point hard pressing
Forced clamping, lockingbolts tight
Padding with wood, foam, or uneven objects
Regularly check supports for looseness or sinking - Usage Standards
Handle workpieces gently; do norop, hit, or drag
Do not drag rough surfaces or castings directly on the platform
Do not perform heavy work such as hammering, chiseling, welding, or grinding
Do not pile excess workpieces, tools, or debris - Rust & Stain Prevention
Hand sweat is corrosive; wear gloves as much as possible
If unused for a time:
Clean thoroughly
Apply a thin layer of instrument oil / rust preventive oil
Cover with a dust cover (cotton cloth / dedicated cover)
Strictly Prohibited:
Leautting fluid, machine oil, or water on the surface for a long time
Covering directly with paper or wood (may cause discoloration or moisture) - Regular Calibration platforms: Calibrate flatness every 6–12 months
Must re-level and re-inspect after bumps or movement
If cracks, chipped corners, or severe scrahes appear → Stop use immediately and send for repair
III. Methods for Different Stains
Dust
Soft brush → Wipe with cloth → Wipe with alcohol
Frprints, oil films
Alcohol / White spirit → Wipe dry with clean cloth
Machine oil, cutting fluid
Specialized degreaser → Wipe multiple times → Dry
Minr scratches
Ultra-fine diamond polishing paste gentle hand lapping (operated by professionals)
Rust spots (metal parts)
Rust remover → Wipe clean → Apply rust prentive oil
IV. Taboos (Must remember)
❌ Do not rinse with water or soak
❌ Do not use steel wool or hard brushes
❌ Do not use strong acids or alkalis
❌ Do not apply heavy pressure, impact, or forceful fixing
❌ Do not place in sunlight, drafts, or near heat sources
❌ Do not leave uncovered or unattended for a long time
❌ Do not arbitrarily change support points
